Monterey is a city on California’s coastline. Our RAAD's havens are in this city. Cannery Row was the center of the sardine-packing industry and John Steinbeck wrote about it. It is popular now for its gift shops, seafood restaurants, and bars in converted factories. There is also The Monterey Bay Aquarium, with marine animals/plants.

Yosemite National Park - California
Have been many times to Yosemite over the years; on my first trip when I was single with friends, we took a mule ride to Nevada Falls, my mule's name was Laura; Laura decided while on the ledge going back down to just stand still and started to turn on the very narrow path not want to move forward, I started to say my prayers and calling to the guide to tell me to instruct me what to do; she gave instructions and Laura then the mule started moving in the right direction...thanks to God!

Have been many times to Las Vegas. My first stop was on a Grey Hound bus from L.A. to Las Vegas in the early '80s by myself, and we stopped in Vegas; I think MGM in the desert was the big thing at that time - now it's changed sig.; had fun, lost a few dollars, and continued to San Francisco we I changed my visa to a student Visa, and then to a U.S. Citizen (a long story how I did that - but did it the right way). Other fun times in Vegas were seeing many shows and magic shows too; Cher/Lionel Ritchie/other shows; also did a group meet in Vegas which was fun!

Newport, Rhode Island Cliff Walk
Had a great time in the bitterly cold weather, and still enjoyed the Atlantic Ocean on the left side and homes on the cliff; stayed at the Newport Wyndham Hotel; which was fabulous with a view of the ocean; walked about a mile from the Wyndham Hotel, pass the main beach and to the famous Cliff Walk; it was cold, the atlantic sea breeze was wonderful and I walked down the 40 steps to the water. Visited St. Mary's Church where JFK and Jackie got married; Thames Street quaint stores; and dinner at The Moorings on the Water. Also visited the main Street near the Mansions and toured The Breakers gilded home!
