There are three major cities in South Africa - Cape Town, Johannesburg-Gauteng, & Durban-KwaZulu
Travel - Google best route - I prefer to fly from the USA to Paris or Amsterdam
for a day or two and then fly to C.T. (The best time for C.T. is November-January)
Stay: The V&A Waterfront Hotels or Camps Bay (beautiful beach)
Food: V&A Waterfront (Timeout Market or Harbour House); Old Biscuit Mill - Woodstock ;
Koeksisters - you can buy it at the Parade; Nandos - Cape Town downtown
Top things to see: Table Mountain - the jewel of Africa and Lions Head - take a ride on
the Cable Car to the top of Table Mountain; hike Lions Head and see a sunset on Signal Hill
District Six - a beautiful fairyland for us growing up was destroyed by the ignorance of Apartheid
Visit the District Six Museum
Coon Carnival - January 2nd - they walk from New D6 - Darling St - Bo Kaap
Bo Kaap has pretty colorful houses
Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens
Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - plus amazing boutique stores
Adderley Street - downtown Cape Town; the flower shop, The Gardens, Parade & The Castle
Cape Point, drive the Seapoint route to Camps Bay - 12 Apostles - all around the mountain
to see the two oceans meet - Indian and Atlantic
Hout Bay - stop for fish and chips (Mariner's Wharf) and then eat it at Chapman's Peak
Simon's Town & Boulders Beach & Penguin Colony

Have a braai (bbq) which is popular in Cape Town
Robben Island by boat tour - Nelson Mandela was imprisoned there
Stellenbosch
Watch your back like any country - keep your backpack in front and your phone in your bag

Christmas Choir Practice (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day the Christmas Choirs walked the streets of D6 and sang to the people with their beautiful music of hymns and music - amazing)
The below clip is the talented Late Neville Lewis playing with silver saxophone (middle), who is originally from D6.  The reel belongs to his daughter Avril Lewis. We played together as children long ago and ran after her dad's choir on Christmas Day.  We have some beautiful memories!
